This resolution grants authority to the Milwaukee Water Works to perform, on a fee basis, accuracy tests of water meters for other municipalities/utilities.
BODY:
Whereas, The Wisconsin Public Service Commission requires all water utilities to perform as found accuracy tests on water meters taken out of service, and
Whereas, The City of Glendale has engaged Field Tech to conduct a meter exchange program and Field Tech has requested the Water Works perform the required as found tests on the Glendale meters for a fee, and
Whereas, The Water Works coincidentally had temporary capacity in its Meter Shop to perform such test, and
Whereas, To take advantage of $11,028 of revenue the Water Works began the testing process during the Common Council's recess and was unable to seek advance authority, now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Water Works is hereby authorized to perform water meter tests for an aggregate fee of $11,028 in accordance with the term of the Meter Test Contract with Field Tech, Inc. entered into August 14, 1998.
