Analysis

This resolution will create a 35.00-foot wide reservation for public street purposes, in the vicinity of South 12^th Street between West Canal Street and the South Menomonee Canal, thereby reserving land for future public street purposes.

Body

Whereas, WE Energies petitioned the City to vacate South 11^th Street between West Canal Street and the South Menomonee Canal; and

Whereas, The City is interested in retaining public access to the various waterways that traverse the City; and

Whereas, To accomplish this, WE Energies will provide future access to the canal by placing a 35.00-foot wide reservation for street purposes across their property; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following described parcel of land be reserved for public street purposes:

The west 35.00 feet of that part of Lot 3 in Subdivision and Partition of the Northwest ¼ of Section 32, Township 7 North, Range 22 East, lying between the present south line of West Canal Street and the dock line of the left bank of the South Menomonee Canal, established per Ordinance No. 787, Common Council File No. 61-3943-a, adopted on March 20, 1962; and, be it

Further Resolved, With the creation of the reservation for public street purposes, the City records will be revised to reflect the reservation.
