This substitute resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to apply for State Enhancements - SFY 2001, 2002 and 2003 Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the amount of $668,000 with a State/City Match of $167,000 for a total project cost of $835,000. The purpose of the project is to install pedestrian level harp lights, high level lanterns, trees, trash receptacles and planters in various locations in the subject area.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from January 1, 2002 to December 31, 2003 would cost $835,000 of which $167,000 (20 percent) would be provided by a State/City Match and $668,000 (80 percent) would be provided by the Grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for a State Enhancements - SFY 2001, 2002 and 2003 Grant for the Walker's Point area is authorized.
