Resolution approving a Land Disposition Report for the property at 541 North 20th Street, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the sale of vacant land owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee according to the conditions in a Land Disposition Report pursuant to Section 304-49-3 and 304-49-8 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.

Body

Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”) acquired 541 North 20th Street (the “Property”) in 1998; and

 

Whereas, The Authority previously issued a Request for Proposal for the purchase and development of the Property in 2019, but was not successful in its sale at that time; and

 

Whereas, The Authority reissued a Request for Proposal for the purchase and development of the Property in 2024, and has selected DNS Real Estate Investments, LLC to develop a 30-unit housing project at the Property; and

 

Whereas, Authorization of proposed sale is contingent on approval by the Authority at its Public Hearing to be held on November 20, 2025 as required by Wisconsin Statutes; and

 

Whereas, Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes and as a condition precedent to the sale, lease or transfer of land, the Authority submits herewith a Land Disposition Report describing the terms and conditions of the proposed sale; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report dated November 20, 2025, with respect to the proposed sale of 541 North 20th Street, is approved; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the sale proceeds, less sale expenses, shall be credited to the Redevelopment Authority’s General Fund.
