Title

Substitute motion amending the Common Council Procedure and Rules relating to amendments introduced on the floor of the council.

Analysis

Currently, the Common Council Procedure and Rules requires that any amendment introduced on the floor of the council be presented in writing to the city clerk.  This motion requires that a copy of this amendment be given to each council member present at the meeting.

Body

Part 1.  Article IV, Section 8, of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is amended to read:

Article IV.  COUNCIL FILES.

Section 8.  Amendments.  Any amendment to be introduced on the floor of the council shall be presented in writing to the clerk >>, and a copy of the amendment shall be given to each council member present at the meeting <<.
