Analysis
This resolution authorizes easements for underground electrical facilities across City-owned properties.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Fire Department ("MFD") is working with Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, to upgrade electrical service to Engine No. 8 at 5585 North 69th Street; and
 
Whereas, To accommodate the service upgrade, WE Energies has requested an underground easement at Engine No. 8 and across the adjoining Milwaukee Police Department ("MPD") District No. 4 property at 6929 West Silver Spring Drive, as illustrated in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and
 
Whereas, MFD and MPD have reviewed the proposed easements and determined that the easements will not interfere with use of the properties; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") shall not require compensation for the easements because the easements provide improved electrical service to municipal facilities; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easements with Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, at the City-owned properties at 5585 North 69th Street and 6929 West Silver Spring Drive are approved; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the required City officials are authorized to execute the easement document for both easements on behalf of the City.
