This ordinance declares that the safety commission is a separate and independent budget control unit in city government and is authorized to employ a safety director and other staff.

BODY:

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 327-27-3 of the code is created to read:

320-27. Safety Commission.

3. The commission shall constitute a separate and independent budget control unit in city government and may employ staff.
