Analysis

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into discussions with the City of Wauwatosa for the provision by the City of Milwaukee of street sweeping services under an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement.

Body

Whereas, The City of Wauwatosa is desirous of street sweeping services; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works could provide said service for this adjacent municipality using existing equipment; and

Whereas, It is desirable to provide consolidated public sector services within the Metropolitan Milwaukee Area; and

Whereas, Intergovernmental collaboration is an appropriate means to accomplish this goal; and

Whereas, Both municipalities will obtain the approval of their governing bodies before entering into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for the provision of these services; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to enter into discussions with the City of Wauwatosa for the provision by the City of Milwaukee of street sweeping services under an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement.
