Body

Whereas, The Milwaukee Streetcar System is a valuable component of the City’s urban transit system; and

 

Whereas, The City has an interest in providing the best possible customer service in an open, safe, and inviting atmosphere; and

 

Whereas, The City recognizes that a failure to regulate conduct of passengers on the Milwaukee Streetcar System could lead to an unappealing and unsafe environment on the Milwaukee Streetcar System; and

 

Whereas, The public has an interest in feeling welcome and safe on the Milwaukee Streetcar System; now therefore

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public works is authorized to establish and enforce a code of conduct substantially similar in form to the attached; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works shall establish and implement a policy and process for banning violators of the code of conduct in a manner substantially similar in form to the attached; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That pursuant to ch. 68, Wis. Statutes as amended and s. 320-11 Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, the Administrative Review Appeals Board shall hear appeals in in a manner substantially similar in form to the attached.
