Reidy, Jr. for the premises at 3000 W. Lincoln Avenue ("Best Place South") in the 8th Aldermanic District. Written objections have not been filed by the licensee. (Committee Vote: 3 Ayes; 1 Noes; 1 Excused; Expiration Date: 9-26-01). Recommendation of nonrenewal of the Class "B" Tavern Dance license (Committee Vote: 5 Ayes; 0 Noes) and renewal with a 30-day suspension with a service bar only restriction of the Class "B" Tavern license (Committee Vote: 4 Ayes; 1 Noes) of Stanley C. Gordon for the premises at 5930 W. North Avenue ("Spice Island") in the 16th Aldermanic District. Written objections have been filed by the licensee. (Expiration Date 9-27-01). The President questioned whether the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee in these matters and any written exceptions, if filed by the licensees? Ayes: 16 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Cameron, Scherbert, Sanchez, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy , Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 0. Excused: 1 - Ald. Pawlinski. THE CLERK asked whether the applicants or their Counsel were present and wished to address the Council. James Reidy, Jr. not present. Stanley C. Gordon and Counsel was present and wished to address the Council. ALD. HENNINGSEN moved that the Common Council do now resolve into the Committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the City Attorney's Office and the Counsel for the applicant. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Attorney Michael Whitcomb and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the committee relative to the foregoing matter. ALD NARDELLI moved that the committeee do now rise. The motion prevailed. ALD. NARDELLI moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the Assistant City Attorney on the restriction of a service bar only. The motion prevailed. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the committee relative to the foregoing matter. ALD. NARDELLI moved that the Committee do now rise. The motion prevailed. ALD. CAMERON moved to amend the recommendation to remove the 30 day suspension and the service bar only restriction. The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: 2 - Ald. Henningsen and Cameron. Noes: 14 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Scherbert, Sanchez, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and Ald. Pratt. Excused: 1 - Ald. Pawlinski. Danny R. Brown not present. ALD. HERRON moved to returnTania Avila back to the Utilities and Licenses Committee. The motion prevailed. Diana C. Hart not present Todd J. Haugen not present ALD. HERRON moved to adopt File Number 010097.
