Title
Resolution amending the composition of the City of Milwaukee Bicycle Task Force.
Analysis
The City of Milwaukee Bicycle Task Force was created in 1993 by Common Council File Number 930071.  That resolution established a 7-member task force consisting of 5 at-large citizen members, one representative of the Department of Public Works and one member of the Safety Commission of the Police Department.  This resolution amends the membership to 8 at-large citizen members, a representative from the Department of City Development, the Department of Public Works and the Safety Commission of the Police Department for a total of 11 members.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 930071 on May 25, 1993 which established the City of Milwaukee Bicycle Task Force; and
 
Whereas, That resolution stipulates that the Task Force shall consist of 5 at-large citizen members, one representative of the Department of Public Works and one member of the Safety Commission of the Police Department, all appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council; and
 
Whereas, The Task Force would like to amend the membership to provide a more broad-based representation; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Resolution File Number 930071 is amended by deleting the text of the resolved clause and inserting in lieu thereof: "that a City of Milwaukee Bicycle Task Force is created and shall consist of 8 at-large citizens members, a representative from the Department of City Development, the Department of Public Works and the Safety Commission of the Police Department, all appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council to serve staggered 3-year terms."
