Body
Whereas, the claimant, Mary Lou Sievert, has filed a claim against the City of Milwaukee in the amount of $46,715.68 arising from personal property damage from a water main failure on July 31, 2025.
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $45,423.55, payable to Mary Lou Sievert, 6100 South 37th Street, Greenfield, WI 53221 the order of as soon as practicable; and so be it
Further Resolved, that in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a check, as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of all claims arising from damage to personal property; to be charged as follows: to the Water Department Account No. 636506- Fund No. 0411 Organization 6411-Program 2631-Sub class R643 and so be it
Further Resolved, that for and in consideration of the above-referenced payments, the claimant, by their representative(s) and/or attorney(s), will provide the city a release of any and all claims arising out of or in any way related to this incident.
