Title

Resolution authorizing an easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company on City of Milwaukee property at 5575 North 76th Street, in the 2nd Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes an easement for underground electrical equipment and facilities across and at a City-owned property.

Body

Whereas, Milwaukee Public Schools (“MPS”) is developing a community center at 5575 North 76th Street (“Development Site”); and

 

Whereas, To accommodate the development, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as We Energies, has requested an underground distribution easement (“Easement”) at and across the Development Site; and

 

Whereas, A copy of the Easement and related map is attached to this Common Council File; and

 

Whereas, The Easement is for the benefit of MPS and We Energies is not being asked to pay any fee for the Easement; and

 

Whereas, Legal title to MPS real property is held in the name of the City, in trust for MPS, and conveyance of MPS property and property rights requires adoption of a resolution by the Common Council approving such action; and

 

Whereas, The Department of City Development and Department of Public Works has reviewed the Easement and recommends approval; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Easement with WE Energies at the City-owned property at 5575 North 76th Street is approved; and

 

Further Resolved, Further Resolved, That the required City officials are authorized to execute the easements on behalf of the City.
