Analysis
This substitute resolution declares the intent of the Common Council, subject to availability of Year 2004 Community Development Block Grant reprogramming funds, to allocate $75,000 to the Milwaukee Alliance for Community Prosecution Unit activities.

Whereas, The Community Prosecution Unit of the Milwaukee Alliance works with the community in pro-actively fighting nuisances on Milwaukee's near south side; and
Whereas, The Community Prosecution Unit activities involves residents and partners with community organizations to combat drug activity, loitering, littering and excessive noise; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Alliance, through the allocation of $75,000 in Community Development Block Grant reprogramming funds will utilize the funding to adequately maintain the Community Prosecution Unit operation of the program through the end of 2004; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is the intent of the Council, subject to the availability of Year 2004 reprogramming funds, to allocate $75,000 to the Milwaukee Alliance for Community Prosecution Unit activities.
