Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2020 Homeland Security ALERT Video Meshing Equipment grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Homeland Security Aligned Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) grant through the State of Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs in the amount of $45,000.00 with no City match. This grant will fund the purchase of AgileMesh audio and video surveillance equipment for use during high-risk incidents and community events. This equipment will allow the Milwaukee Police Department to increase the safety and security of Law Enforcement and citizens involved in critical incidents.

Whereas, Under CFDA 97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 11/23/2020 to 12/31/2021 would cost $45,000.00 of which $0 (0%) would be provided by the city and $45,000.00 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That, the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: HS-WEM ALERT AGILEMESH GRANT.
