ANLS:
- ANALYSIS - This resolution approves a lease agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Lamers Bus Lines, Inc. which will allow Lamers to use a portion of a Department of Public Works storage yard at 1210 West Boden Court for employee parking.
BODY:
Whereas, Lamers Bus Lines, Inc. operates a school bus transport business at 1122 West Boden Court, Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works owns the abutting property at 1210 West Boden Court and uses it for storage in conjunction with its Field Operations activities; and
Whereas, Lamers has asked City officials if it could lease a portion of the City property for employee parking purposes; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works is not currently using the portion of the property Lamers has asked to lease; and
Whereas, Lamers is a growing company that must either expand its current site or must relocate, potentially to a site outside of the City; and
Whereas, The lease of DPW facilities is intended to be an interim solution to Lamers needs while the City works with the company on a long term solution; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the lease agreement attached to this file as Exhibit "A" is hereby approved and that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to execute the lease on the City's behalf; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner is authorized to make minor, nonsubstantive changes in the lease document prior to its execution.
