Analysis
This ordinance increases the number of special tavern dancing permits which may be issued to a single premises from the current 10 per year to 20.  These permits allow dancing on a Class "B" alcohol beverage premises for a single 24-hour period.  This ordinance also increases the fee for these permits from the current $16 to $30 each.
 
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Section 81-121 of the code is amended to read:
81-121.  Tavern Dancing, Special Party Permit.  The fee for each tavern dancing, special party permit shall be $[[16]]>>30<<.

Part 2.  Section 90-33-3 of the code is amended to read:
90-33.  Kinds of Tavern Amusement, Dancing and Music Licenses.
3.  SPECIAL TAVERN DANCING PERMIT.  A special permit authorizing dancing upon tavern premises during a particular 24 hour period may be issued to the holder of a tavern license by the city clerk, except that no such special permit shall be required for New Year's Eve and dancing will be permitted in all taverns on New Year's Eve. The city clerk shall notify the police department of the issuance of all such permits. No more than [[10]] >>20<< special dancing permits shall be issued for the same premises in any license year. No permit may be issued without the consent of the local council member.
