On April 29, 1997, the Utilities and Licenses Committee reviewed File Number 961491, a communication from the Alcohol Beverage Licensing Task Force transmitting the report of its recommendations to the Common Council. The license committee approved various recommendations contained in the Task Force report, with amendments to certain recommendations. This resolution approves those Task Force recommendations which were approved by the Utilities and Licenses Committee, amends or deletes certain of those recommendations, and directs the Legislative Reference Bureau to draft the appropriate legislation to implement those recommendations as approved in this file.
BODY:
Whereas, On July 30, 1996, the Common Council adopted File Number 960498, a resolution creating a 15-member Alcohol Beverage Licensing Task Force to conduct an in-depth examination of the policies, procedures and practices of the City of Milwaukee with respect to the granting of alcohol beverage licenses; and

Whereas, The Task Force held a total of 10 public meetings, beginning August 26, 1996, and submitted its final report and recommendations to the Common Council on January 31, 1997; and

Whereas, On April 29, 1997, the Utilities and Licenses Committee reviewed File Number 961491, a communication from the Alcohol Beverage Licensing Task Force transmitting the report of its recommendations to the Common Council; and

Whereas, The Utilities and Licenses Committee approved various recommendations contained in the Task Force report, with amendments to certain recommendations; and
