Title
Substitute Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding of a grant from WE Energies, titled “DPW Field Headquarters Energy Grant” which will aid in offsetting costs for the design and construction of energy saving measures implemented at the new Department of Public Works Field Headquarters located at 3850 North 35th Street.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to apply for, accept, and fund a “DPW Field Headquarters Energy Grant” from WE Energies for incorporating energy saving measures into the construction of the new Department of Public Works Field Headquarters at 3850 North 35th Street. The total project cost of the project is $73,069, of which 100% will be provided by the grantor. No City matching funds are required.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from WE Energies for offsetting costs for the design and construction of energy saving measures implemented at the new Department of Public Works Field Headquarters located at 3850 North 35th Street; and
Whereas, We Energies provides for payment of $125 for each Kilowatt reduction in the peak demand and $.05 for each Kilowatt hour reduction in annual energy usage; and
Whereas, We Energies also provides for fixed amounts to reimburse for design and design development of the energy saving measures; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant, “DPW Field Headquarters Energy Grant”, from WE Energies would cost $73,069 of which 100% would be provided by the grantor and there would be no City matching funds required; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to We Energies is authorized and the Commissioner of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
