The resolution approves the City's membership in the American Society for Quality.
Body
Whereas, Based in Milwaukee, the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is a knowledge-based global community of quality experts, with members dedicated to the promotion and advancement of quality tools, principles and practices in their workplaces and communities; and
Whereas, ASQ supports its members by providing a wide range of resources, from certification and training to publications and conferences; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is committed to operating efficiencies and processes to improve performance and quality; and
Whereas, The City uses quality tools and techniques through programs such as the Accountability in Management Program (AIM); and
Whereas, The City desires to ensure that quality services are provided to its residents by becoming the first municipality in the nation to join ASQ; and
Whereas, With membership in ASQ, City personnel will have access to quality-improvement tools and training for maximizing productivity and performance, including access to ASQ's Knowledge Center which consists of thousands of articles, case studies and best practices; and
Whereas, City personnel will also be able to participate in certification programs offered through ASQ as well as in its networking opportunities; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the City's membership in the American Society for Quality.
