Body
Whereas, The plaintiff, Lutecia Gonzalez, has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Chu seeking an unspecified amount in recovery; and
Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settlement of the lawsuit in the amount of $50,000.00; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this settlement; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $50,000.00 payable to the Trust Account of the Law Offices of Peter Earle, in full and final settlement of this claim, upon release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City of Milwaukee, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636506 0001 1490 2631 S118-2004.
