| RECOMMENDED FOR PLACING ON FILE
Minutes note: Communication File 12 and 19 were discussed together.
Appeared Kevin Muhs (DPW - City Engineer)
Zachary Roeder (DPW - Infrastructure)
Appeared Thomas Wangerin (DPW - Infrastructure)
Alderwoman Moore noted heavy constituent outreach (calls/emails/texts) about widespread potholes after a difficult winter and asked for transparency on DPW’s plan to address the issue.
Alderwoman Pratt supported a more aggressive pothole strategy by expanding repair hours (including weekends and earlier starts), citing success in other cities. She emphasized public frustration (“paying for a service”) and described safety/quality-of-life impacts for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians; also noted vehicle damage.
Ald. Chambers stressed a desire for more proactive identification of potholes rather than relying only on resident tickets, including documenting potholes seen by city crews.
