Substitute resolution to settle claim of Gamella Hines for property damage.

Whereas, Members of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee have reviewed the records relating to the raze order and subsequent repair permit issued for the claimant's building at 2658 North 15th Street, and have taken testimony from the claimant and City representatives.  Although the City Attorney recommended denial of this claim, members of the Committee believe that the claimant is entitled to be reimbursed $1500.00, the cost she incurred for beginning repairs on the building under the repair permit, since this permit was issued erroneously and subsequently revoked; now, therefore be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $1500.00 payable to Gamella Hines, 3027 North 1st Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212, to reimburse her for property damage; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Account No. 636505, Fund - 0001, Organization - 1490, Program - 2631, Sub Class - S118. .  This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident.
