Analysis

This substitute resolution declares the 9^th District Business Summit to be an official City event, and transfers the remaining balance from the City’s Fourth of July fund to be used for this event.

Body

Whereas, The 9^th District Business Summit connects small business owners and entrepreneurs with City departments and local vendors; and

Whereas, The 9^th District Business Summit provides tools and development resources to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, including seminars on writing business plans, marketing their businesses, and obtaining access to capital; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the 9^th District Business Summit is designated as an official City event; and, be it

Further Resolved, That all City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make the 9^th District Business Summit successful; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Office of the Common Council - City Clerk is authorized to accept contributions for the 9^th District Business Summit and to expend such funds for this purpose or for any purpose specified by the contribution in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Common Council - City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the remaining balance of the Milwaukee Fourth of July Commission Special Purpose Account 0001-1910-S150-006300 for the purposes of this event.
