Resolution assigning the name "East Ted Seaver Way" to a private street extending between North Harbor Drive and North Lincoln Memorial Drive and located approximately 150 feet south of East Clybourn Street (4th Aldermanic District).
Analysis
This resolution assigns the name "East Ted Seaver Way" to a private street which has been developed to allow buses to exit the Summerfest grounds from North Harbor Drive and proceed directly onto the East-West Freeway.
Body
Whereas, Edward "Ted" Seaver III was an advocate for people and for fairness; and
Whereas, Ted Seaver worked tirelessly to make the city of Milwaukee a better place to live; and
Whereas, Ted Seaver died on January 13, 1999; and
Whereas, The naming of a street on Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront in memory of Ted Seaver would be a fitting tribute to honor Mr. Seaver's contributions to the community and to remind citizens of the creativity and spirit he exuded when tackling community causes; and
Whereas, This naming will be in conformance with the provisions of s. 113-1-5 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, which relates to street name signs for private streets; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the name "East Ted Seaver Way" shall be assigned to the private street which has a centerline that is described as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of the Southwest ¼ of Section 28, Township 7 North, Range 22 East; thence South 01 deg. 02 min. 02 sec. East along the east line of said ¼ Section 834.04 feet to a point; thence South 88 deg. 57 min. 58 sec.
