Body
Whereas, Plaintiff, Tiffany Lewis, has filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as Amended, the Rehabilitation Act, and 42 U.S.C. § 1983 arising from her employment with the City; and

Whereas, counsel for the parties have reached an agreement to the settle the above-referenced lawsuit for a total amount of $63,343.60, inclusive of costs, fees, back and front pay, and applicable employer’s taxes, in consideration for a release of all claims, subject to approval by the Common Council; and

Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $35,000.00, payable to Padway & Padway, Ltd.; 5150 N. Port Washington Rd. Suite 151, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53217, as soon as practicable; and so be it

Further Resolved, that the Department of Public Works be authorized to issue a paycheck to Plaintiff in the amount of $26,329.40 made payable to “Tiffany Lewis,” as and for gross wages owed, through the City of Milwaukee’s regular customary payroll process, subject to withholding appropriate taxes, pension, and other benefit contributions, as soon as practicable; and so be it

Further Resolved, that in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue...
