This resolution authorizes the removal or reconstruction of encroachments, projections, and special privileges on streets and alleys on the 2000 Paving program. ____________________________________________________________
BODY:
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that under Section 66.045 of the Wisconsin Statutes, Section 7.05 of the Milwaukee City Charter and Section 245-3 of the Milwaukee Building Code and amendments thereto, all special privileges and permits for projections and encroachments on streets and alleys on which the Common Council approves for improvement during 2000 whether granted as provided by law or otherwise exercised, are hereby cancelled to the extent necessary to accomplish the construction or reconstruction, of said streets and alleys, and the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to notify the owners of the premises abutting such special privileges, encroachments, and projections, to alter, as may be necessary, or to remove the same within thirty (30) days; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon failure of the owner or owners to alter or remove said special privileges, encroachments, and projections on the streets and alleys above-mentioned within said thirty (30) day period, the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to remove and fill in the same, either by contract or by City forces, and assess the cost thereof against the owner or owners of the abutting property.
