This resolution authorizes donation of a privately owned residential vacant lot to the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., acquired a residential duplex at 2318-20 North 45th Street in the Sherman Park Neighborhood through mortgage foreclosure; and
Whereas, The house had extensive fire damage in November 2010 and was razed in January 2011 by the Department of Neighborhood Services; and
Whereas, The property is considered a buildable lot and is in an area targeted by Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, Inc. for new housing; and
Whereas, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., has offered to donate the property to the City of Milwaukee ("City") and will provide the City with a clear title; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City is authorized to accept donation of the vacant lot at 2318-20 North 45th Street from Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of the Department of City Development, or designee, is authorized to execute a Donation Agreement with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., to accept the deed and to execute other documents necessary to acquire clear title to the property.
