Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of video surveillance equipment from 100 East Wisconsin Joint Venture (Police Department).
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of video surveillance equipment from 100 East Wisconsin Avenue Joint Venture, to be used by Department members in the performance of their duties.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, 100 East Wisconsin Avenue Joint Venture has offered to donate various video surveillance equipment to be used within the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This equipment will enable the Department to expand its surveillance capabilities to detect and deter criminal activity; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of video surveillance equipment from 100 East Wisconsin Avenue Joint Venture; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
