ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for, accept, and fund a Reference Databases Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction, in the amount of $16,265 with a city share of $1,265 and a grantor share of $15,000. The purpose of the project is to purchase electronic subscriptions to reference databases and make available to neighborhood libraries via the WAN. .
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction, for the purchase of various library materials; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/97 to 06/30/98 would cost $16,265 of which $1,265 (8%) would be provided by the city and $15,000 (92%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction is authorized and the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled "Reference Databases Grant": .nf
