Analysis
This resolution would approve amendment to and extension of lease agreement with Edward
E. Gillen for .921 acres of property on the Port's South Harbor Tract.
BODY
Whereas, Edward E. Gillen Company has been a long term tenant in good standing in the Port of Milwaukee and has an existing lease dated December 20; 1999; and
Whereas, The existing lease has expired as of December 31, 2004 and both parties to the lease have agreed to an additional one-year extension under the same terms and conditions extending to December 31, 2005; and
Whereas, The City and Tenant have agreed to enter into discussions to explore a possible alternative site for the relocation of the Tenant's operations on the property; and
Whereas, The Board of Harbor Commissioners at their meeting of January 21, 2005 acted by vote of the Board to grant such extension; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said Common Council hereby ratifies and approves the amendment to and extension of lease agreement between Edward E. Gillen Co. and the City of Milwaukee, by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners for the period of January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 per the terms and conditions of the leased dated December 20, 1999; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the designated officers of said government and of said Board of Harbor Commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement to carry out this purpose, as prepared by the City Attorney's office.
