Analysis
This ordinance replaces the requirement for public passenger vehicle driver’s license applicants to have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a requirement to have a valid driver’s license issued by any U.S. state or territory or the district of Columbia.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 105-54-2-b and c of the code is amended to read:
100-54. Public Passenger Vehicle Driver’s License.
2. QUALIFICATIONS.
b. Possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license, excluding occupational licenses, issued by [[the state of Wisconsin]] >>any U.S. state or territory, or the district of Columbia<<.
c. If desiring to operate a motorcycle for tours, possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license issued by [[the state of Wisconsin]] >>any U.S. state or territory, or the district of Columbia<
Part 2. Section 100-54-3-a-3 and 7 of the code is amended to read:
3. APPLICATION.
a-3. Valid motor vehicle driver's license number issued by [[the state of Wisconsin]] >>any U.S. state or territory, or the district of Columbia<<.
a-7. Whether the applicant has within the last 5 years had any motor vehicle driver's license issued by [[the state of Wisconsin]] >>any U.S. state or territory, or the district of Columbia<< suspended or revoked, and the nature of the suspension or revocation.
