This resolution authorizes the adoption of the Relocation Plan for the Spot Acquisition/Blight Elimination Urban Renewal Project prepared by the Department of City Development pursuant to Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes and in accordance with Department of Commerce guidelines.
BODY:
Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Authority") intends to execute a renewal plan for the Spot Acquisition/Blight Elimination Urban Renewal Project that will result in the acquisition of private property and the displacement of residential, business and non-profit occupants; and

Whereas, The Authority cannot proceed with land acquisition activities until it has a State of Wisconsin (Department of Commerce) approved Relocation Plan for the residential, business and non-profit occupants expected to be displaced, as required by Chapter 32.25, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, Said Relocation Plan must be submitted to and approved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee as required by Chapter 66.431(10), Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Relocation Plan prepared by the Department of City Development and entitled "Spot Acquisition/Blight Elimination Urban Renewal Project Relocation Plan," a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, is found to:

1. Formulate a feasible method for relocating the residential, business, and non-profit occupants to be displaced from areas that are designated for clearance and redevelopment.

2. Assures that suitable relocation sites are available to the residential occupants to be displaced by Project activities.
