Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File No. 001177 by authorizing the substitution of one of the two properties for which restoration feasibility studies were approved.
Body
Whereas, On December 15, 2000, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee via File No. 001177, authorized the City of Milwaukee to apply for, accept and fund a State Historical Society of Wisconsin Certified Local Government Grant; and
Whereas, Said Grant was approved to fund restoration feasibility studies on the properties located at 3713 West Miller Lane (Frederick and Lisette Miller House) and 2432 West Kilbourn Avenue (Kalvelage Schloss House); and
Whereas, Since the adoption of Common Council File No. 001177, the pending sale of 3713 West Miller Lane fell through and the current owner does not wish to participate in this grant project; and
Whereas, To fully utilize the benefits of said Grant, the West End Community Association, in conjunction with the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, have recommended a replacement for the property located at 3713 West Miller Lane; and
Whereas, Said replacement property is located at 3209 West Wells Street (Schuster Mansion); now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee amends Common Council File No. 001177 by approving a restoration feasibility study for the property located at 3209 West Wells Street (Schuster Mansion); and, be it
Further Resolved, That all other aspects of Common Council File No. 001177 remain in full force and effect.
