Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a subaward from Sojourner Family Peace Center in the amount of $325,000, with a City share of $0 and a grantor share of $325,000.
Body
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #21.027, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible as a subrecipent for federal grant funds from Sojourner Family Peace Center as part of a State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Program - Milwaukee County Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) grant; and

Whereas, The purpose of the subaward grant is to expand the Milwaukee County Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) by increasing capacity to identify and manage cases at highest risk for homicide to save lives; and

Whereas, The operation of this subaward grant from 10/1/2023 to 12/31/2024 would cost $325,000, of which $0 would be provided by the City and $325,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept this subaward grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2023 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled 2023 DVHRT Grant:
