Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to accept a grant from KABOOM! for the installation of a playground at Butterfly Park, 3717 W. Meinecke Avenue.

 

Body

Whereas, On March 3, 2015, the Common Council passed File Number 141658, a resolution relating to the creation, implementation, funding and authority of the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, On July 30, 2019, the Common Council passed file number 190609, authorizing the Department of Public Works to accept up to $4,000,000 in contributions to support the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, KABOOM! is a nonprofit organization with a mission to unite with communities to build kid-designed playspaces that can spark joy and foster a sense of belonging for the kids who are often denied opportunities to thrive; and

 

Whereas, KABOOM! has agreed to provide the City of Milwaukee with a playground at Butterfly Park, located at 3717 W. Meinecke Avenue; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with KABOOM!, in substantially the same form as attached to this file, for the receipt of a playground to be installed at Butterfly Park, 3717 W. Meinecke Avenue.
