Recommendation of nonrenewal of the Class "B" Tavern and Tavern Dance license of Willie J. Madlock, Jr. for the premises at 1556 N. 35th Street ("Third Wheel M.C."-formerly "Cotton Club") in the 4th Ald. Dist. Written objections have not been filed by the licensee.
Recommendation of renewal with a 10-day suspension of the Class "B" Tavern license of Annie M. Jackson for the premises at 2544 W. Fond du Lac Ave. ("J & J Bar") in the 7th Ald. Dist. Written objections have not been filed by the licensee.
Recommendation of renewal of the Class "B" Tavern and denial of the Tavern Dance license of McWillie Lewis for the premises at 3328 W. Burleigh Street ("Peoples Lounge") in the 10th Ald. Dist. Written objections have been filed by the licensee.
(Recommendation of nonrenewal of the Class "D" Bartender license of Erica J. Jurgenson. Written objections have not been filed by the licensee at the time of Council.
THE CHAIR questioned whether all members of the Common Council had read the report and recommendations by the Utilities and Licenses Committee.
Ayes: 17 - Ald. Pratt, D'Amato, Henningsen, , Schramm, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Frank, Richards, Butler, Scherbert, Witkowiak, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Kalwitz.
Noes: 0.
THE CHAIR questioned whether any of the applicants or their counsel was present and wished to address the Council.
Willie J. Madlock, Jr. appeared and wished to address the Council.
ALD. WITKOWIAK moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the applicant's attorney and Assistant City Attorney.
PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Willie J. Madlock, Jr. and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the Committee. relative to the foregoing matter.
ALD. D'Amato moved that the Committee do now rise.
The motion prevailed.
ALD. PRATT moved that the Class "B" Tavern license application be approved.
Ayes: 9 - Ald. Pratt, Johnson-Odom, Butler, Scherbert, Pawlinski, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and Kalwitz.
Noes: 8 - D'Amato, Henningsen, Schramm, Gordon, Frank, Richards, Witkowiak and Breier.
Annie M. Jackson - The applicant or her counsel did not appear.
McWillie Lewis - The applicant and his counsel were present.
ALD. BUTLER moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the applicant's attorney and Assistant City Attorney.
