This resolution directs the Infrastructure Services Division-Department of Public Works to prepare a report that addresses numerous complaints pertaining to the recent street light outages.
BODY:
Whereas, The Infrastructure Services Division-Department of Public Works has not responded to recent complaints about street light outages in a timely manner; and
Whereas, The Infrastructure Services Division- Department of Public Works has not provided a sufficient explanation for these outages; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Infrastructure Services Division-Department of Public Works is directed to prepare a report including but not limited to:
1. The number of citywide street light outages from January 1, 1998 to the present.
2. The average length of complaint response time in conjunction with each power outage.
3. The number of workers assigned to deal with street light outages.
4. The policies dealing with priorities for street light outages.
5. The effect of the city employment freeze on the division's ability to deal with street light outages.

Further Resolved, That the Infrastructure Services Division-Department of Public Works shall submit its report to the Common Council within 30 days of the adoption of this resolution.
