Analysis

Currently, no turf grass or weeds is permitted to grow or stand more than 7 inches on any property in the city. This ordinance requires that, prior to imposing special charges, a written notice be given to the owner or occupant of the property to cut the turf grass or weeds within 48 hours.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 80-17-5.5 of the code is created to read:

80-17. Hay Fever Weeds, etc.

5.5. NOTICE TO CUT.  A person who fails to cut turf grass or weeds in violation of sub.2 shall receive a written notice to comply and shall abate the alleged violation within 48 hours or be subject to the special charges provided in sub. 6.
