Title

Substitute resolution relative to establishing the rate of taxation for 2002 Budget purposes as computed by the Commissioner of Assessments of the City of Milwaukee.

Analysis

Adoption of this substitute resolution will assure compliance with State Statutes s.65.07(1)(a) concerning adoption of the annual city budget.

Body

Whereas, Chapter 65.07(1)(a) of the Wisconsin Statutes requires that the rate of taxation for the general city fund shall be established only by an affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members elected to the Common Council;  now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, That under the requirements of Chapter 65.07(1)(a) that the tax rate of the City of Milwaukee resulting from budgetary totals adopted by the Common Council on or about November 9, of the current year shall be the tax rate of the City of Milwaukee for general City Fund for the year 2002.
