Resolution amending Common Council File No. 020160, which declared various vacant, tax-deed lots surplus and authorized their sale for new church construction, in the 7th Aldermanic District. (DCD)
Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of seven surplus, vacant, tax-deed lots for religious facility construction with associated parking.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File No. 020160 declared seven vacant, tax-deed lots surplus and authorized the Department of City Development (“DCD”) to accept an Offer to Purchase from Praise Temple Baptist Church for new church construction; and

Whereas, Praise Temple Baptist Church purchased an existing facility and has canceled their Offer to Purchase; and

Whereas, Spirit Governed Baptist Church, Inc. has submitted an unsolicited Offer to Purchase said lots, which are listed below, in the amount of $15,000 for construction of a church with associated parking:

Whereas, DCD recommends acceptance of said Offer contingent upon:

1. Closing must occur within 90 days from adoption of this resolution and only after site and building plan approval by DCD's Development Center along with a firm financial commitment in place to complete the project as proposed.

2. Construction must be completed within 9 months from the date of closing; and

Whereas, DCD recommends sale in an “as is” condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission, via Common Council File No. 020160, determined that said lots are surplus to municip...
