Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Medical Assistance Outreach Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Medical Assistance Outreach Grant from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $138,933. The purpose of the grant is to identify individuals in Milwaukee lacking health insurance and assists them in enrolling in programs for which they are eligible.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to identify individuals in Milwaukee lacking health insurance and assists them in enrolling in programs for which they are eligible; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/01 to 12/31/01 would cost $138,933 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within Project/Grant Parent 2001 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Medical Assistance Outreach Grant:
