This resolution amends the sales price and disposition of a surplus, vacant, City-owned lot.
BODY:
Whereas, On November 4, 1997, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted File No. 970983, which declared surplus and authorized the disposition of various vacant, tax deed/City-owned lots via the open listing method; and
Whereas, The original listing price for 3476-78 South 15th Place was $12,000; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has received an Offer to Purchase said lot from Marty Radocha in the amount of $4,000; and
Whereas, Laterals to said lot are lead and must be fully replaced prior to construction; and
Whereas, Said lateral replacement is very costly and the tax base generated by new construction will more than compensate for the lower sales price; and
Whereas, Mr. Radocha has submitted building plans for a single family home that are generally acceptable and are neighborhood compatible; and
Whereas, This vacant, City-owned lot is being sold in an "as is" condition; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance of said Offer, the sale of said lot to be consummated in the manner provided for in the sale of other City-owned lots pursuant to Section 304-49 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Mr. Radocha's Offer to Purchase 3476-78 South 15th Place is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale of said lot and that the proceeds be credited to the Reserve For City Fund Account No. 01-191-9944.
