Title

Resolution approving a memorandum of agreement between the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) and the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis (CDA-WA) relative to the administration and management of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers

 

Analysis

 

Body

WHEREAS, HACM administers the federally-funded Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program including 258 Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers (HUD-VASH) to serve homeless veterans; and

 

WHEREAS, the Secretary-Executive Director recommends that HACM and CDA-WA sign a Memorandum of Agreement that they will each retain and perform all tasks required in the management of a HUD-VASH voucher, absent of the portability procedures, when an applicant from its allocation chooses a unit within the a 5 mile radius of each others’ boundaries; and

 

WHEREAS, HACM and CDA-WA agree that no billing arrangement will be needed                      under this MOA; and

 

WHEREAS, HACM and CDA-WA agree to continue to administer this HUD-VASH participant under its own policies and procedures; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement will become effective upon execution by both parties and will continue until terminated; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the Memorandum of Agreement is approved.
