Analysis
This resolution authorizes payment to the Trust Account of Sperling Law Offices, LLC in the amount of $75,000.00, related to Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 25-CV-6730.
Body
Whereas, the Plaintiff, Yolanda Moffett, has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee, by and through their attorney, arising from a motor vehicle accident involving a City vehicle on November 11, 2022; and
Whereas, counsel for the parties have reached an agreement to settle the above-referenced lawsuit for a total amount of $75,000.00, inclusive of all fees and costs, subject to approval by the Common Council; and
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $75,000.00 payable to the order of Trust Account of Sperling Law Offices, LLC, 411 E. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 2300, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202, as soon as practicable; and so be it
Further Resolved, that in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue City checks as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of all claims arising from the motor vehicle accident, to be charged as follows: to the Damages and Claim Fund Account No. 001-1490-S118-006300, and so be it.
