This ordinance eliminates the name of West Good Hope Place, a freeway frontage road located between West Fond du Lac Avenue and North 115th Street. The State of Wisconsin removed this frontage road as part of the improvements to the Good Hope Road interchange with highways 41/45. No other right-of-way or roadway, in the City of Milwaukee, is named West Good Hope Place.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council Ordinance File Number 64-3936, adopted March 23, 1965, changed the name of a portion of West Good Hope Road, from West Fond du Lac Avenue to North 115th Street, to West Good Hope Place; and
Whereas, The freeway frontage road named West Good Hope Place from West Fond du Lac Avenue to North 115th Street has been removed by the State of Wisconsin; and
Whereas, The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Common Council ordinance File Number 64-3936 is rescinded and the name of West Good Hope Place be eliminated as a City of Milwaukee street name
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
Section 4. This ordinance passed notwithstanding the provisions of Section 113-3 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
