Title

Substitute resolution authorizing the City of Milwaukee Department of Employee Relations to enter contract with WPS to provide a narrow network Basic Plan option to Management Employees in 2003.

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Department of Employee Relations (DER) has looked at providing options to City employees with regard to health insurance that save the employee and the City money; and

 

Whereas, WPS has proposed that the City of Milwaukee offer a Basic Plan Narrow Network Option to Management employees in 2003; and

 

Whereas, This Basic Plan narrow network option could reduce costs as much as 12% for management employees selecting the plan; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Employee Relations has indicated it was pursuing a narrow network option with WPS when the HMO contracts were approved in July; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, That DER be authorized to enter into a contract with WPS to provide a Basic Plan narrow network option to management employees in addition to the regular Basic Plan and the two HMO networks in 2003; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That DER with the concurrence of the City Attorney will prepare and execute contracts regarding this Basic Plan narrow network.
