Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a maintenance agreement on behalf of the City of Milwaukee between the Business Improvement District
No. 27 and the City of Milwaukee. This agreement pertains to the segment of West Burleigh generally between North Sherman and North 60th Street. The BID 27 plans to install furniture in the city right-of-way mainly in the sidewalk area. The agreement obligates the BID 27 to maintain the furniture.
Body
Whereas, The Business Improvement District 27 (BID 27) proposes to install street furniture such as decorative benches, bicycle racks, banners, and trash receptacles on city sidewalks; and
Whereas, The City will retain ownership of the furniture; once installed, BID will maintain the furniture; and
Whereas, A maintenance agreement codifying the maintenance responsibilities of the BID 27 and the City has been drafted and is attached to this file; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the attached maintenance agreement between the BID 27 and the City of Milwaukee is hereby approved; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner may make minor, non-substantive changes to the agreement prior to its execution.
