Analysis
This resolution transfers $27,100 from the 2006 Common Council Contingent Fund to the Department of Employee Relations - Alternative Transportation Special Purpose Account to cover a projected shortfall due to higher fees and less than expected carryover of funds
Body
Whereas, The Department of Employee Relations - Alternative Transportation Special Purpose Account was funded in 2006 at $100,803; and
Whereas, $98,933 of the $100,803 budget has already been expended through the third quarter 2006; and
Whereas, The Department of Employee Relations and the Budget Office agree that the projected expenditures for the fourth quarter 2006 for Alternative Transportation will be at least $55,546; and
Whereas, The balance in the special purpose account is $1,870.50, with another $26,645 available from employee payroll deduction contributions to pay for the fourth quarter 2006 Alternative Transportation projected expense of $55,546, leaving an unfunded liability of $27,030; and
Whereas, These expenditures are payable per agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee County Transit System; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that an amount not to exceed $27,100 be transferred from the Common Council Contingent Fund (001-9990-001-C001-006300-2006) to the Alternative Transportation Special Purpose Account (006100-0001-1650-0001-S104-2006); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officials are authorized and directed to take whatever steps are necessary to fulfill the intent of this resolution.
