Substitute resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into a professional services contract for consultant services to assist the Water Works in the preparation, execution and evaluation of requests for proposals to replace the present customer information service computer system.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the execution of a professional services contract for consultant services to assist the Water Works in the area of procurement of a utility customer information computer systems. A contract will be awarded to the consultant which best meets the needs of the Water Works as specified and determined by the Commissioner of Public Works.

Whereas, The Common Council, through the approval of the 2002 Water Works Budget, provided funding for the procurement of a replacement to the current Water Works Customer Information Computer System; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for professional services for consulting services to assist the Water Works in the preparation, execution and evaluation of a requests for proposals to replace the present customer information service computer system; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the cost of this contract be charged to the appropriate Water Works service account.
